Tops 40 Music - Simply The Best

Top 40 Music Information

It is a harder gig than you would think of. You have to be on top of the tastes of the bar crowd, and that can be difficult. At first, I really did not know how to stay up to date. I looked at the top 40 music charts, figuring that that may be the best method to know what was in and what was not.

As the band leader, I was the one to choose the songs we played. The Billboard top music songs was working pretty well for a while, but the crowd was not quite with us. They would jiggle with to the music, and we were making decent tips on most weekends, but for the most part no one really concentrated on what we were playing. The top40music songs simply were not working. Whatever the reason, we were not in sync with what these people wanted to hear.

Top 40 Music Tips

For a while, we switched it up. We ignored the top40music entirely, and focused on classic rock and oldies, incorporating it up with a bit of blues and R&B. It seemed to work pretty well for a while. We had more fans actively listening to us, and we seemed to receive more tips as well. The odd thing was that folks would not stick around as long. Frequently, the younger folks would leave. It is possible to live off of the tips of the 35+ crowd, but you really don't want to push away younger listeners.

We only hit on the right formula when we decided to mix things up. We would play top 40 music, oldies, and a few more obscure numbers for the music snobs in the crowd. In some way, that was the best way to do it. Normally, you can not keep everyone happy, but at this bar we could. People who enjoyed top 40 music got enough to keep them around, but we also kept the classics there for people who favored older tunes. It was a good bar, so it wasn't that hard to get the folks to stay around once we found the right mix.
